"I took the Changing Directions program at COCC about 8 years ago. After taking the class, I enrolled in ABE and passed GED testing. Then I went on to COCC to complete my AA degree. I attended the COCC Foundation Breakfast with the State Governor when I graduated. I was offered a job with a local social service agency prior to graduation which was my goal....
Eight years later, I am going through new changes in my life. My children are grown and have moved out of the house. I've participated in the Compassionate Communication workshop at the Women's Resource Center which has improved communication with myself, my husband and my family.
Recently, I left my job because I have a clear sense of personal values and discord present in my work environment. In order to discover what my next step is, I have enrolled in the Life Transitions class again offered by the Women's Resource Center. I know the benefit of support, personal exploration, and the opportunity to arrive at a point of clarity as I move into taking on new challenges." |
